TRANSFER Errors (4000-6999)

Effect. SMSERV uses process names found in the TRANSFER GTRSTOP to determine
which server processes to notify within a given server class. No server processes with
the expected names were found running.
Recovery. See the system manager.

Log Control updated, but no process names found in the GTRSTOP file.
Cause. Log Control information for TSCHED, TWORK, or TRECV has been updated in
the TRANSFER Namespace. When SMSERV tried to notify all running server
processes in the affected server classes, no server processes were defined.
Effect. SMSERV uses process names found in the TRANSFER GTRSTOP to determine
which server processes to notify within a given server class. No process names were
found for the server class affected by the Log Control change.
Recovery. See the system manager.

Request to notify a server process timed out before process responded.
Cause. SMSERV tried to notify a server process of a change in either log parameters or
log file location.
Effect. The SMSERV request to a given server process timed out before the server
process responded. (SMSERV waits a period of 20 seconds before timing out.)

Request to notify a server process failed; process did not exist.
Cause. SMSERV tried to notify a server process of a change in either log parameters or
log file location.
Effect. The SMSERV request to a given server process failed because the named
process did not exist.
Recovery. See the system manager.

Cause. You tried to perform a function that requires system administrative write
privileges.
Effect. The function you requested is not performed.
