Base TRANSFER
Definition and Initialization
Base TRANSFER is the only mandatory component of a TRANSFER system.
Installation of Base TRANSFER requires that you run the program CDTRDEF to
generate command files for configuring, starting, and stopping Base TRANSFER—
including ADMIN and TMANAGER. For an initial definition, the installation also
generates files for initializing Base TRANSFER data files.
To install Base TRANSFER initially, perform the following steps:
1. Run the CDTRDEF program for initialization.
2. Execute the obey file GTRINIT.
There is one step for redefinition:
Run the CDTRDEF program for redefinition.
See Section 8 for considerations on redefining and reconfiguring an existing Base
TRANSFER configuration.
CDTRDEF Program
The CDTRDEF program uses configuration information in the DEFINETR file to
generate configuration files for Base TRANSFER, including ADMIN and
TMANAGER. For the description of DEFINETR, see the Base TRANSFER define file
in Appendix A.

subvol
is the volume and subvolume in which file DEFINETR resides (the configuration
