TRANSFER Installation and Management Guide
System Installation Procedures

The files generated on the configuration subvolume are:
GTRCNFG, which contains the Base TRANSFER PATHWAY configuration,
including ADMIN and TMANAGER
GTRCOOL, which contains PATHCOM commands that start all servers in the
PATHWAY system in alphabetical order by server class name (START SERVER *)
and invokes TAREQ-TCPs, TRAN-TCPs, and terminals
GTRUPDT, which contains TACL macros that update certain name directory
parameters, once for each definition or redefinition, for processing of external
objects
GTRSTOP, which contains GUARDIAN 90 command interpreter commands to
stop Base TRANSFER processes
XCNFG, the program that configures the TRANSFER system
XCOOL, the program that starts the TRANSFER system
XSTOP, the program that stops the TRANSFER system
If any file that CDTRDEF generates exists in the configuration subvolume when
CDTRDEF executes, CDTRDEF moves the file to a new subvolume, writes the newly
generated file to the configuration subvolume, and issues a message telling the
location of the old, moved file. CDTRDEF moves the file as described in "Definition
Program File-Moving Procedure" later in this section.
Do not directly edit the files that CDTRDEF generates, which are secured O-OO to
discourage editing. If you wish to change configuration information, either customize
Base TRANSFER by adding information to customizing files as described in Section 7,
or change information in the Base TRANSFER define file and rerun CDTRDEF.
The files generated exclusively for the INITIAL phase are used once to establish the
database used by TRANSFER. After initialization has completed successfully, purge
the initialization obey files to reduce the possibility of accidentally destroying files if
you repeat the OBEY GTRINIT step.
