INITIAL
provides for initializing the X400 gateway. Specify INITIAL when you first install
the X400 gateway or when you wish to reinitialize the gateway.
REDEFINE
provides for changing reconfigurable parameters for the X400 gateway for an
existing X400 gateway configuration. REDEFINE is optional and is assumed if
you specify neither REDEFINE nor INITIAL.
Example
Here is an example of how you run the CDX4DEF program:
1> RUN CDX4DEF /OUT $S.#x4out,NOWAIT/ trancnfg INITIAL
This command specifies processing for the initial installation of the X400 gateway and
specifies that define file DEFINEX4 resides on subvolume TRANCNFG. In this
example the TRANSFER user-DSV is the current default subvolume. CDX4DEF writes
the generated files to subvolume TRANCNFG and the listing to the spooler file
#X4OUT. NOWAIT returns immediate control to the terminal while execution
continues. CDX4DEF checks input data for required parameters and performs some
parameter checking. If CDX4DEF finds input errors, CDX4DEF issues a message to
the listing file. If CDX4DEF execution results in errors, make the indicated corrections
in the DEFINEX4 file and rerun CDX4DEF. Continue this process until execution
results in this message: “CDX4DEF finished successfully.”
If the definition run is for the initial installation of the X400 gateway, CDX4DEF uses
configuration information to generate files that initialize the gateway. These files are:
GX4INIT, which is a GUARDIAN 90 command interpreter obey file that contains
commands to invoke programs that create and initialize the gateway
GX4FUP, which contains File Utility Program (FUP) commands to create the X400
gateway files
GX4LOAD, which contains NALOAD commands to add the configuration names
to the name directory
For both INITIAL and REDEFINE runs, CDX4DEF generates files that other
TRANSFER installation procedures automatically use for configuring, starting, and
stopping the X400 gateway.
