TRANSFER Installation and Management Guide

System Installation Procedures
068837, Update 1 to 013198 Tandem Computers Incorporated 6–17
The files generated on the configuration subvolume are:
GX4UPDT, which contains a TACL macro that is invoked by XCNFG when the
TRANSFER system is being reconfigured
GX4CNFG, which contains the PATHWAY configurations for the X400 gateway
servers
GX4COOL, which contains GUARDIAN 90 command interpreter commands used
by XCOOL to cool start the TRANSFER X400 gateway part of the TRANSFER
PATHWAY configuration
GX4COOL can also be run as a standalone file to cool start only the gateway part
of the PATHWAY configuration.
GX4STOP, which contains GUARDIAN 90 command interpreter commands to
stop server processes
If any file that CDX4DEF generates exists in the configuration subvolume when
CDX4DEF executes, CDX4DEF moves the file to a new subvolume, writes the newly
generated file to the configuration subvolume, and issues a message telling the
location of the old, moved file. CDX4DEF moves the file as described in "Definition
Program File-Moving Procedure" later in this section.
Do not directly edit the files that CDX4DEF generates, which are secured O-OO to
discourage editing. If you wish to change configuration information, either customize
the X400 gateway by adding information to customizing files as described in Section 7,
or change information in the X400 gateway define file and rerun CDX4DEF.
The files generated exclusively for the INITIAL phase are used once to establish the
database used by TRANSFER. After initialization has completed successfully, purge
the files to reduce the possibility of accidentally destroying files if you repeat the
OBEY GX4INIT step.
