GX4INIT Obey File
The GX4INIT obey file contains the commands that invoke programs to create and
initialize the X400 gateway.
GX4INIT invokes a special program, X4INIT, that initializes the gateway data files,
creates the special X400 gateway depot, and configures the X400-EXPORT, X400-
IMPORT, X400-EXPORT-PROBLEM, and X400-IMPORT-PROBLEM folders for that
depot as a place to save items that are exported and imported.
The GX4INIT file is written to the configuration subvolume by definition program
CDX4DEF if you specify INITIAL in the execution command. Running this obey file is
the initialization phase of the X400 gateway and applies only to initialization, not to
redefinition, of the X400 gateway.
After you run the CDX4DEF program with INITIAL specified, execute the obey file by
specifying the following command:
1> OBEY GX4INIT
Obey file GX4INIT requires that files GX4FUP and GX4LOAD reside in the
configuration subvolume. These files are generated at the same time GX4INIT is
generated by the CDX4DEF program.
When GX4INIT executes, expect to get messages that indicate errors. For example,
GX4INIT purges files before creating them. If these files do not exist, which is true the
first time you install the X400 gateway, you get warning messages about the
nonexistent files. Do not be alarmed by these messages, but examine all messages for
exceptions.
