The PUBLIC Depot
The PUBLIC group is a special group automatically created at each TRANSFER node.
Local correspondents are automatically members of the PUBLIC group. The default
name for the PUBLIC depot—PUBLIC—is not configurable.
As a system administrator, you can define and manage shared folders and distribution
for the PUBLIC group. By setting profiles and attributes of the PUBLIC group, you
can control the amount of resources used by the group.
Consider the following when you configure the PUBLIC depot for your node:
Limit the length of time that items remain in folders by lowering the maximum
item retention time for the PUBLIC depot so that folders do not fill with unwanted
items.
Limit permission to create PUBLIC folders and distribution lists to the system
administrator or PUBLIC group administrator.
For information about configuring the PUBLIC group, see the TRANSFER
Administration Guide.
