7 Customizing a TRANSFER
System
068837, Update 1 to 013198 Tandem Computers Incorporated 7–1
Overview Customizing your TRANSFER system allows you to meet special needs at your site by
changing the configuration generated by a definition program. You can change—or
customize—that configuration by maintaining customizing files on the configuration
subvolume.
You can make the following kinds of changes to your TRANSFER system:
Add PATHWAY objects for user-written clients and agents
Adjust PATHWAY objects to improve performance
Adjust configuration parameters that cannot be set with the define files
To change the generated configuration, you need to know the parameter values that
are generated. The definition programs generate files on the configuration subvolume
that contain the PATHCOM commands to configure the PATHWAY objects.
There is a file for each component you define for your TRANSFER system. The files
are:
GTRCNFG—Base TRANSFER
GMLCNFG—PS MAIL 6530
GIMCNFG—PS MAIL 3270
GCMCNFG—PS MAIL TTY
GX4CNFG—the X400 gateway
You can examine these files for the information you need. Never update these files.
Any changes made to one of these files is lost at the next definition or redefinition run
because these files are generated by the definition programs. All definition programs
secure these files O-OO to remind you not to edit them.
