Enabling External Objects
The External Objects Enabled field on the TRANSFER SYSTEM CONTROL screen
indicates whether external objects are enabled. External objects are GUARDIAN 90
files attached to TRANSFER messages where data can be kept, rather than in the
TRANSFER database.
A Y (yes) in the External Objects Enabled field indicates that the external objects
feature is enabled and that data in a new message can be kept in a GUARDIAN 90 file
attached to a TRANSFER package, rather than in the TRANSFER database. An N (no)
indicates that the feature has been disabled and that no new external object
attachments can be made.
Existing messages stored as external objects are not affected by the setting of this flag;
it is still possible to read messages stored in this way when the flag is set to N.
