Configuring Parameters for Statistics Collection
Using ADMIN to Administer TRANSFER

STANDARD ITEM COUNTING indicates that every instance of an item saved in a
depot is counted.
It is possible to set this parameter so that items saved more than once in a depot
are counted only once, but as the system manager, you need to be aware that
accounting for an item only once takes extra system resources because each time a
correspondent saves or deletes an item, TRANSFER must check to see if the item
exists elsewhere in the depot.
This parameter applies only to saved items, not to component items. In other
words, an item that is saved in more than one folder is counted only once, but an
item that exists as a saved item and also as an attachment to another item in the
depot is counted twice. The TRDFLTS default for standard item counting is YES,
which means that the same item is counted in a depot’s statistics every time it is
saved in the depot.
