the alarm thresholds at which TMANAGER notifies you of a given event. You can
also enable and configure the active alarm feature provided by TSAMPLE.
Log Functions
Log Functions allow you to control logging parameters and log file locations used by
the TSCHED, TWORK, AND TRECV servers.
Probe and Trace Functions
Probe and Trace Functions provide means to look at scheduler queues, to scan a
folder, and to trace an individual item and get information about its recipients,
delivery status, and package parameters.
You can select a package for tracing in three ways:
If you do not know the item ID, you can specify a folder name in the Folder field
and then scan the folder to point to the item on the FOLDER SCAN screen.
If you have the item ID—perhaps from a log file—you can specify the item ID in
the Item Id field to request an item trace.
From the SCHEDULER QUEUE SCAN screen, you can point to an item for
tracing.
The item ID is displayed in a format like that for TSCHED and TWORK item-ID
logging. You must enter item IDs in the same format:
n, n, n, n, n, n
where n is an integer in the range -32768 to 32767. The integers must be separated by a
comma and exactly one space.
These functions help you diagnose problems with item transport and delivery.
Utility Functions
Utility Functions include the help, return, exit, and print functions.
The Current Printer Location field displays the current output file name used when
you press F9 to invoke the print function from any TMANAGER screen.
Initially, this field contains the default output device specified in the mail profile for
your depot. If no default output device is specified in the mail profile, the printer
assigned in the PATHWAY program from which TMANAGER is running is used. If
neither the depot mail profile or the PATHWAY program names a print location, the
field is blank.
As system manager, you can specify a different output file location for the current
TMANAGER session by typing a new value in the Current Printer Location field. This
new value does not take effect until the print function is actually used.
