This manual provides guidelines for management of the TRANSFER delivery system
on Tandem NonStop systems. System management of TRANSFER involves ensuring
that the hardware and software configurations satisfy the requirements of TRANSFER.
A system manager installs TRANSFER and monitors and controls TRANSFER when it
is running.
TRANSFER provides system and resource management tools to assist TRANSFER
system managers with system monitoring and problem determination.
The ADMIN client allows you to control certain functions of your TRANSFER
system and to collect depot statistics; these screens are presented in Section 9 of
this manual.
The TMANAGER client allows you to perform other system and resource
management functions, such as monitoring of database files and asynchronous
queues; dynamic log control for the TSCHED, TWORK, and TRECV servers; and
package tracing capabilities at the local node. TMANAGER is discussed in Section
10 of this manual.
This manual is intended for the system manager, who is assumed to be experienced
with the GUARDIAN 90 operating system, PATHWAY, and the Transaction
Monitoring Facility (TMF). If TRANSFER is running in a network, each system (node)
in the network has a system manager.

The TRANSFER Reference Manual provides reference material for application
programmers who write programs that use the features of TRANSFER. It also
lists the text and meaning of all messages returned to TRANSFER application
programs.
The TRANSFER Administration Guide, Volume 1, Reference Manual and the
TRANSFER Administration Guide, Volume 2, Messages Manual discuss the
ADMIN application for managing the TRANSFER delivery system.
The Queue Manager Manual discusses the Queue Manager, an optional queuing
facility that lets requesters add an entry in a queue and retrieve an entry from
a queue for processing. The Queue Manager can be used independently of
TRANSFER. It is automatically installed when you configure the TRANSFER
X400 gateway.
