Logging Records Per Open
The Log Records Per Open field specifies the number of lines written to the log file
after which the file is closed and reopened. The default is 10000.
Log File Location
The Log File Location field contains the GUARDIAN 90 file name of the log file
location.
Function Keys The LOG CONTROL screen lists the tasks you can perform from this screen by
pressing the indicated function keys.
Print (F9) prints the current screen. Output goes to the location specified in the
Current Printer Location field on the TMANAGER MAIN MENU screen.
Update (F14) updates the log control parameters.
You must have system administrative write privileges; if not, you get a security
violation error.
Recover (SF14) recovers the screen to its last state.
Help (F15) gets a HELP screen explaining the LOG CONTROL screen or provides
detailed information for the error message currently on the advice line.
Return (F16) returns you to the MAIN MENU screen.
Exit (SF16) returns you to the MAIN MENU screen.
Using the LOG CONTROL
Screen
If you supply a partially qualified log file name, TMANAGER uses first your
correspondent mail profile defaults and then your GUARDIAN 90 defaults to qualify
the file name fully. Because file-name resolution might require your GUARDIAN 90
defaults, you must have a GUARDIAN 90 user ID configured in your TRANSFER
correspondent profile.
After you press F14 to update any field where values have been altered, TMANAGER
notifies each running server process in each affected server class of the configuration
change. If TMANAGER is not able to notify a server process, you get a warning
explanation. In most installations, these warnings are normal for the TWORK and
TRECV server classes because these servers are typically defined with one or more
dynamic servers.
The system profile is also updated so that any new servers that start up use the latest
values.
