Using the Logs for Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
12–22 13198 Tandem Computers Incorporated
If you need only a quick check of the status of events, you can assign a log to a paused
terminal and watch it. As long as everything is running properly, the log can be
disabled. If, however, problems arise, assign the log to a spooler location to provide
more time for checking it.
Although logs do fill quickly, you can lose valuable troubleshooting information if you
leave logs off. If for any reason you need to contact a Tandem system analyst for help,
have your logs available; the analyst will ask you questions about the information in
the logs.
