Using ADMIN

Volume 1 of the TRANSFER Administration Guide, the Reference Manual, describes the
depot-related functions that an administrator performs on behalf of the
correspondents. These include registering correspondents; defining profiles; setting
up agents; and handling folders, distribution lists, and interest groups. As system
manager in charge of the TRANSFER environment, you particularly use the ADMIN
system control function screens, listed on the ADMIN MAIN MENU screen, shown in
Figure 1-4.

From the TRANSFER SYSTEM CONTROL screen, you can set the time limits for
packages sent from this node, specify whether external objects are enabled,
indicate the default language and character set for the system, and define who can
create interest groups. Section 9 of this guide describes this screen in detail.
TMANAGER provides a set of screens for performing numerous system and
resource management functions. Figure 1-5 shows the tasks that you can select
from the TMANAGER MAIN MENU screen. Section 10 of this guide describes
using TMANAGER.
