GFSERV Startup Messages The GFSERV server can issue the following message if it encounters a problem on
startup:
IOEdit unable to unable to obtain I/O segment space
Cause. IOEdit could not get adequate I/O segment space.
Effect. The server abends.
Recovery. You probably need to provide more memory for your system.
SMSERV Startup Messages The SMSERV server can issue the following messages if it encounters problems on
startup:
Error XXXX,XXXX finding root directory name
Cause. The indicated GUARDIAN 90 error occurred.
Effect. The server abends.
Recovery. Refer to the GUARDIAN 90 error number displayed.
Invalid NAMESPACE Parameter
Cause. Your NAMESPACE parameter is incorrect.
Effect. The server abends.
Recovery. Correct the NAMESPACE parameter.
SMSERV could not initialize Text Server
Cause. The text server is not available, or the text file is unavailable.
Effect. The server abends.
Recovery. Start TEXTSRV.
SMSERV could not open the Data Base Sample File
Cause. The Database Sample file is incorrectly secured.
Effect. The server abends.
Recovery. Ensure that the Database Sample file is correctly secured.
