General Information:
1) This is the release of the PSMAIL german language support to be
used with T9131C20 20APR90 or later PS MAIL 6530. The C20 PS MAIL
6530 version have several changes and new features in the screen
layout. The changes are translated to german in this version.
Support is provided for GERMAN versions of:-
Base TRANSFER
PS MAIL 6530
This release does not have support for GERMAN versions of:-
PS MAIL 3270
PS MAIL TTY
2) The mail user interface and a number of generated TRANSFER words
and messages are presented to the PS MAIL user in GERMAN.
3) The interface provided in this product contains both GERMAN and
English PS MAIL user interfaces. These may both be used on the
same system and in the same network.
4) Other language interfaces are also available and, subject to
certain constraints, may also be used on the same system and in
the same network. See "Installation Instructions for Multiple
Languages" below for further details.
5) The ADMIN screens and functions are only available in English.
However the objects manipulated in these screens (Correspondent
names, Folder names etc.) may be in the GERMAN language.
6) This release of GERMAN language support requires that you
follow the Installation Instructions (below) after configuring
your TRANSFER system.
7) Support is provided for the use of the Tandem 653X terminal
configured for the GERMAN language. Full use is available for
all the GERMAN characters available on the keyboard.
8) In multiple language networks, a character mapping scheme allows
accented characters from other languages that may appear in
correspondents names to be displayed and entered on the GERMAN
terminal.
The details of this mapping scheme are described in "TRANSFER
Name Character Mapping" below.
9) The user profile contains two parameters to describe the language
and the character map of the terminal respectively. These
parameters are updatable via the ADMIN screen and are also used
by the start session SCOBOL program.
