Depot storage old statistics. Displayed on the OLD STATISTICS screen, the samples
taken for the preceding configuration period if the depot storage facility was keeping
previous samples.
Depot storage statistic. The byte count of data stored in a depot. This data includes item
data, external objects, and distribution list records. The storage statistic can reflect a
current or a past storage amount for the depot.
Depot storage statistics. Displayed on the STATISTICS screen, the statistics at the
current time as well as the most recently collected samples if the depot storage facility
is keeping previous samples.
Distribution list. A predefined list of recipient names that provides a simple method for
a correspondent to send a package to multiple destinations. A member of a
distribution list can be a correspondent, an interest group, or another distribution list.
The distribution list belongs to the depot owner, but can be used by any
correspondent. Contrast with Recipient list.
Distribution list records. TRANSFER records that contain the distribution lists defined by
correspondents.
Distribution subvolume (DSV). The grouping in which Tandem releases software for
installation. Names are in the form Yxxxxzzz where xxxx is the product number and
zzz is the release number—for instance, Y9110C20. Contrast with ISV and User-DSV.
Domain. A collection of nodes on an X400 network; these are connected through
MTAs. There are two types of domains: ADMDs and PRMDs.
Expiration window. The period of time between latest possible delivery and scheduled
expiration of a package.
Exporter. The X400 Exporter server.
External object. An object outside of the TRANSFER database (such as a PC text file)
that can be accessed and used by TRANSFER. External objects are attachments to
items stored in a depot and are components of any folder statistic total. See Depot
storage statistics.
File partitioning. Subdividing a large file into smaller units that can be handled more
effectively by your TRANSFER system.
Folder. An area in which items and packages can be stored. A folder belongs to the
depot owner, and only the depot owner can inspect the contents of the folder. In
addition to the folders automatically created and maintained by TRANSFER, a
correspondent can define folders for a depot.
Folder storage statistic. The byte count of data stored in a folder. This data includes
item data and external objects. Item data is data saved in data records for all item and
record types. An external object is an object outside of the TRANSFER database that
can be accessed and used by TRANSFER. The folder storage statistic reflects only a
current storage amount for any folder.
Foreign correspondent. An X400 user in a PRMD and ADMD outside the TRANSFER
network.
