TRECV
TRANSFER network receiver server. TRECV servers are allocated by TFRONTs
to handle all incoming network operations. The TFRONTs assign a TRECV for
remote TWORKs as needed. You must define the TRECV server class to have at
least one member for every TFRONT pseudo-terminal you define at your node.
TSCHED
TRANSFER scheduler that schedules, controls, and tracks all TRANSFER activities
that are performed independently of an application request. For example,
TSCHED controls delivery of packages and cleanup of ended sessions. This
server is configured in the single-process server class A-TSCHED as a fault
tolerant process pair. The installation procedures provide $TSCH as the default
process name.
NAMESRV
Name server that manages names for TRANSFER. This server is configured in the
single-process server class A-NAME as a fault tolerant process pair. The
installation procedures provide $T as the default process name. All nodes in a
network must use the same process name for the Name server process if the nodes
are to communicate with one another.
FOSERV
Format server. The FOSERV server is used in the FORMAT server class to format
screen data internally for the PS MAIL 6530 and PS MAIL 3270 clients.
TEXTSRV
Text server. This server retrieves text items from the text database. The text
database comprises the Textfile, which describes text for display (such as error
messages, special folder names, or help text), as well as certain text accepted from
users (such as command keywords). The Text server also uses information about
character sets and character maps from the DTCMAPS file.
GFSERV
G-FILE server. The GFSERV server is used in the G-FILE server class to access
GUARDIAN 90 files for PS MAIL 6530 and PS MAIL 3270, and in the TTY-G-FILE
server class to access GUARDIAN 90 files for PS MAIL TTY.
GFSERV must be licensed, using the FUP LICENSE command.
PSSERV
Process initiator server. The PSSERV server is used in the PROCESS-SERVER
server class. Process servers are used by PS MAIL 6530 and PS MAIL 3270. They
invoke and monitor the editor and formatter processes. In addition, the Process
server invokes the TIXF program, found on the Base TRANSFER subvolume, to
handle Information Xchange Facility (IXF) requests over MULTILAN.
PSSERV must be licensed, using the FUP LICENSE command.
