Multidestination Delivery
(P1)
Multidestination delivery allows an originator to specify delivery to more than one
recipient or UA.
TRANSFER items can be addressed to multiple users within the TRANSFER delivery
system and X400 networks.
Access
Use the ADD-RECIP, ADD-RECIP-C20, or ADD-X400-RECIP UOW to add recipients
to a package.
Multipart Body (P2) Multipart body capabilities allow the originator to send a mail message with a body
that is partitioned into several parts.
Messages with multipart bodies can be imported or exported through the gateway.
The type of each body part accompanies the body part.
Data Structure
Each body part maps to an item within the package.
Nonreceipt
Notification (P2)
Nonreceipt notification allows you to request notification when a package expires or is
deleted before it is received. The definition of received depends upon how the
recipient's client or UA handles receipt.
Nonreceipt notification can be requested for any TRANSFER recipient with any
recipient type. Notification requests for X400 recipients are only valid for TO, CC, and
BCC recipients.
If a package is certified, then nonreceipt notification from all recipients is implied,
even if notification was not specifically requested.
Data Structure
A request for nonreceipt notification resides with recipient data.
Access
To specify nonreceipt notification, set the NON-RECEIPT-NOTIFY flag in the
ADD-RECIP or ADD-X400-RECIP UOW.
For outbound messages, the gateway returns nonreceipt notification in a TAREQ
status package. The gateway stores additional information—including reason and
comments, if available—in an item data record of type 219, record sequence number 1.
Foreign UAs may not support receipt notification; therefore, do not depend on receipt
notification from foreign X400 recipients unless you know all foreign UAs support
notification.
For incoming messages, the TRANSFER delivery system returns a nonreceipt
notification if a message expires or is deleted before the client requests an ACK-
RECEIPT UOW for the package.
