TRANSFER Programming Manual
Related (Cross-Referencing) Indication (P2)
X400 Services
6–32 069138, Update 1 to 040970 Tandem Computers Incorporated
The TRANSFER delivery system returns receipt notification for incoming messages
when you request an ACK-RECEIPT UOW for the package.
To determine which recipients have receipt notification requested for them, use the
GET-RECIP-REC-C20 and GET-X400-RECIP UOWs.
Related (Cross-
Referencing) Indication
(P2)
Related indication allows you to indicate whether related items (also called cross-
referencing items) are associated with the mail message being sent. This feature is
similar to a reply item; it allows the recipient to access referenced messages. The
TRANSFER delivery system attaches related messages in the same manner as it
attaches obsoleted messages.
A message sent by an X400 originator can reference messages that were not previously
imported by the TRANSFER delivery system. In this case, the TRANSFER delivery
system attaches an expired item (item type 119) with a text record of type 120.
Data Structure
You attach an obsoleted item to the obsoleting item and assign a component type of
102.
Access
Use the ATTACH-COMPNT-A01 UOW with type 102 to add a related item.
Use the GET-ITEM-COMPNT-A01 UOW to retrieve a related item.
Replying IP-Message
Indication (P2)
The replying IP-message indication indicates that a message is a reply to an earlier
mail message.
Data Structure
Replies reside in an item of type 110. The gateway attaches the original message as a
component of type 100.
Access
Use ALTER-ITEM-DES-C20 to specify an item type of 110. The gateway generates the
replying IP-message indication for each package with an item type of 110.
Use the GET-ITEM-DESC or GET-ITEM-DES-C20 UOW to see if the item is a reply.
Use the GET-ITEM-COMPNT-A01 UOW to retrieve the original message.
The gateway also checks to see if the original message is available; if so, the gateway
attaches the message as a component of the imported message.
Reply Request
Indication (P2)
The reply request indication allows you to request a reply to the mail message that
carries the request. The originator can include a date and time, called the reply-by
date, by which the reply is desired. The originator can also include a list of recipients
for the reply, called reply-to recipients. You specify the date and recipient list on a
per-package basis; therefore, the date and recipient list are the same for each recipient
of a package.
