In certain cases, your application might need to interact with one of the TRANSFER
clients or agents supplied by Tandem. This is necessary, for example, when a Tandem
application is embedded within your own, or when you write application software
that is called by a Tandem application.
This appendix describes conventions common to all TRANSFER applications supplied
by Tandem and discusses considerations specific to Tandem electronic mail clients.
See Appendix B of the TRANSFER Reference Manual for information about status
packages.
Interfacing with Any
Tandem Client
When your application prepares packages that are passed to the TRANSFER delivery
system, the packages must be assembled in a format that a Tandem client can read. In
planning these packages, consider the information in the following paragraphs.
Application ID This value is assigned in the APPLIC-ID field of the START-SESSION UOW. APPLIC-
ID values 100-499 are reserved for Tandem clients. Table A-1 lists the APPLIC-ID
values for Tandem clients that have been defined.
