In the sender's depot, in a folder named REPLIES containing the reply sent back to
the sender by the recipient
According to this arrangement, several packages can include the same item. Also,
several folders can include the item without necessarily including any package of
which the item is a part. Finally, the folders that include the item need not all belong to
the same depot.
Because each depot and item ID includes the system number of the node where the ID
was assigned, it is vital for the system manager at the installation to observe the
following caution:
Caution Once the TRANSFER delivery system is running in a production environment, do not change your system
number. The system number is an integral part of the IDs that identify the objects defined at your node. If
a system name or number must be changed at a node where TRANSFER is running, the TRANSFER
database on that node must be reinitialized. Existing data cannot be preserved.
