The X400 Gateway supports two forms of O/R names. Table 6-2 lists the attributes in
each form. Your choice of form depends on whether the O/R name identifies an X400
UA or a TRANSFER correspondent. Other forms of O/R names are not supported by
the TRANSFER delivery system.

The gateway interprets O/R names in two ways depending on whether you want to
specify an X400 recipient or a TRANSFER correspondent.
Specifying an X400 Recipient
When you send a message to an X400 recipient, the O/R name can be in Form 1,
Variant 1 or Form 1, Variant 3. If you use Form 1, Variant 1, you can use any of the
personal name fields as needed; use information that corresponds to the field names.
You can access O/R names as follows:
To specify an O/R name for an X400 recipient, use the ADD-X400-RECIP UOW.
To retrieve an O/R recipient name, use the GET-X400-RECIP UOW.
To retrieve the originator of an X400 message, use the GET-X400-ORIG UOW.
To add O/R names to a TRANSFER distribution list, use the ADD-X400-MEMBER
UOW.
Each correspondent has a depot profile. The depot profile can contain default values
for frequently used country names, ADMDs, PRMDs, and organization names. A
correspondent can retrieve these defaults and display them in the appropriate field as
needed, instead of typing them for each message. (For additional information, see the
description of the GET-PROFILE-ELEM UOW in the TRANSFER Reference Manual.)
Specifying a TRANSFER Correspondent
The gateway maps TRANSFER correspondent names to Form 1, Variant 1 of the O/R
name. The surname field within the personal name attribute must contain the
correspondent name. The organization name field of the O/R name must contain the
correspondent’s node name. Table 6-3 describes how the TRANSFER delivery system
constructs an O/R name for a TRANSFER correspondent.
