Deferred Delivery
Cancellation (P1)
Deferred delivery cancellation allows you to cancel a package with deferred delivery
before the delivery time passes.
Access
Use the CANCEL-PKG-TIMED UOW if you want to check for a nonzero
SUBMIT-TIMED field and make sure the time is in the future before you cancel the
package. The CANCEL-PKG-TIMED UOW returns an error if the submit time is no
longer in the future.
The CANCEL-PKG UOW cancels a package regardless of delivery time.
Delivery
Notification (P1)
Delivery notification returns notification of delivery for recipients of a package.
You can request delivery notification for TRANSFER and X400 recipients individually
or by distribution list.
Note Delivery notification indicates that a package was delivered to a recipient's INBOX folder or UA. Delivery
notification does not indicate that a recipient has examined the package. Refer to package certification
and receipt notification if you want to receive notification when a recipient examines the contents of a
message.
Data Structure
Delivery notification information resides with recipient records.
Access
Set the DELIV-NOTIFY flag in the ADD-RECIP or ADD-X400-RECIP UOW to specify
delivery notification.
For outbound messages, the gateway returns delivery and nondelivery notifications to
TRANSFER correspondents. Notifications are in the form of TAREQ status packages.
For recipients that are TRANSFER correspondents, the TRANSFER delivery
system returns delivery notification when the package is successfully delivered to
the recipient's INBOX folder.
For recipients in TRANSFER distribution lists, the TRANSFER delivery system
returns delivery notification when the message is delivered to the members'
INBOX folders.
For recipients in X400 networks, X400 generates delivery notification when the
message is delivered to the recipient UA.
Date and time of delivery resides in an item data record of type 215 with record
sequence number 1. Use the GET-ITEM-REC UOW to retrieve date and time
information.
If delivery notification is requested for an incoming message, TAREQ returns delivery
notification before storing the message in the recipient's INBOX folder.
