ALTER-PROFILE-ELEM Operation
The ALTER-PROFILE-ELEM UOW and the GET-PROFILE-ELEM UOW complement
each other. Because these two UOWs are closely involved with one another and
because they share common field definitions except for the one discussed in the
following paragraph, the details of their operation are presented together in this
manual, under the description of the GET-PROFILE-ELEM UOW. Refer to that
description for further information about the ALTER-PROFILE-ELEM UOW.
The ALTER-PROFILE-ELEM response has the same format as the GET-PROFILE-
ELEM request. ALTER-PROFILE-ELEM does use one field in Element Identifier 8 that
GET-PROFILE ELEM does not, however: GUARDIAN-PASSWORD is the
correspondent logon password required for validation of an altered GUARDIAN 90
ID. If you are changing GUARDIAN-USER-NAME, you must supply the
GUARDIAN 90 password, as the following syntax indicates.
Element Identifier 8. Element Identifier 8 accesses the GUARDIAN 90 ID for a depot.
DEF data-depot-guardian-id.
02 elem-identifier TYPE BINARY 16 VALUE 8.
02 dd-guardian-id-rtn TYPE BINARY 16.
02 guardian-user-name TYPE CHARACTER 17.
02 guardian-password TYPE CHARACTER 8.
02 filler TYPE CHARACTER 7 VALUE SPACES.
END.
ELEM-IDENTIFIER
is 8.
DD-GUARDIAN-ID-RTN
is one of the following:
0 OK
4238 E-TFER-PROFILE-ABSENT
GUARDIAN-USER-NAME
is the correspondent user name as defined to the GUARDIAN 90 operating
system. If no GUARDIAN 90 user name is associated with the depot, the entry
NONE is returned in this field.
