GUARDIAN-PASSWORD
is the correspondent logon password required for validation of an altered
GUARDIAN 90 ID. If you are changing GUARDIAN-USER-NAME, you must
supply the GUARDIAN 90 password. The TRANSFER delivery system accepts
the password without verification under the following conditions:
If the depot requesting the change has a GUARDIAN 90 user ID of
group.MANAGER, where group is the group of the new GUARDIAN 90 ID
being assigned to the depot
If the depot requesting the change has a GUARDIAN 90 user ID of
SUPER.SUPER
The TRANSFER delivery system simulates the validation performed by the
GUARDIAN 90 operating system. GUARDIAN-PASSWORD is used only by the
ALTER-PROFILE-ELEM UOW; blanks are returned in this field for GET-
PROFILE-ELEM.
If you are not changing GUARDIAN-USER-NAME, the TRANSFER delivery
system ignores the password. Beginning with TRANSFER version B40, you do not
need to alter the GUARDIAN 90 password stored in the depot profile if you are
not altering GUARDIAN-USER-NAME.
The return code is defined as follows:
DEF rtn-depot-guardian-id TYPE BINARY 16.
RTN-DEPOT-GUARDIAN-ID
is one of the following values:
0 OK
4238 E-TFER-PROFILE-ABSENT
4304 E-INVALID-GUARDIAN-ID
For all other profile elements, you can use the same definition for both the ALTER-
PROFILE-ELEM UOW and the GET-PROFILE-ELEM UOW, changing only the UOW
code value. Depot profile elements are listed in Table 2-17. An example of an ALTER-
PROFILE-ELEM request and response is included under “GET-PROFILE-ELEM
Operation” in the discussion of the GET-PROFILE-ELEM later in this section.
