ATTACH-COMPNT-A01 Operation
ATTACH-COMPNT-A01 attaches one item as a component of another. TISERV
records the item IDs of components in components list records that are treated as part
of the parent item. If this operation is successful, the component count in the parent
item descriptor and the parent count in the component item descriptor are both
incremented by 1.
A component item can contain its own components, each of which can also have
components; thus, you can create an entire tree of items. The parent item cannot be in
its own tree of components.
If the depot storage statistics facility is active, collection depends on the value of
COUNT-ITEMS-ONCE and the level of the parent item, as shown in
Table 2-6.
