DETACH-COMPNT Operation
DETACH-COMPNT detaches a component item from its parent item by removing it
from the parent components list. You can reference this record in the UOW either by
its relative position within the components list (with the REL-POSITION field) or by
its item ID (with the COMPNT-ID field).
If this deletion is successful, the component count in the parent item descriptor is
decremented by one; the relative position of all succeeding items in the components
list is also decremented by one. If component two is detached, for example,
component three becomes component two. The IATTACH record for the child is also
deleted.
If the depot storage statistics facility is active, collection follows the rules in Table 2-10.
