item handle, object ID, or object name (as indicated by the contents of the
OPTIONS field). PARENT-ID and PARENT-HANDLE redefine this field to
indicate the object ID or item handle, respectively, that specifically denotes the
object. If you specify a parent that is a primary external object, the PARENT field
in the response UOW contains the fully qualified file name of the object; if you
specify an item rather than an external object is specified as the parent, this field
contains blanks.
To refer to an item produced by a previous UOW within the same IPC, you can
replace PARENT-HANDLE with ITEM-HANDLE, which is defined in the
“Commonly Used Fields” subsection of this manual.
REL-POSITION
is the ordinal position in the list of primary or alternate attachments that the
attachment now occupies. If you specify the attachment by object name, object ID,
or item handle, set this field to 0. If you enter a value other than 0 in this field,
your value is used and the TRANSFER delivery system ignores the contents of the
OBJECT-NAME field (described next).
OBJECT-NAME
indicates the object to be detached, specified by name, object ID, or item handle (as
indicated by the value of the CHILD-IS-OBJECT-NAME subfield). This field is
only used if the REL-POSITION field contains 0. OBJECT-ID and OBJECT-
HANDLE redefine OBJECT-NAME to refer to an object ID or an item handle,
respectively. In the response UOW, OBJECT-NAME contains the fully qualified
file name of the object that was detached.
