DETACH-EXTOBJ
TISERV UOW Descriptions
2–224 069139, Update 1 to 40969 Tandem Computers Incorporated
In the OBJECT-NAME field, if you specify the object by name, you must use a fully
qualified network file name in external format. This is the same type of name returned
by the ATTACH-EXTOBJ and GET-EXTOBJ UOWs.
If the attachment being dissolved is the last attachment of this file on this node, and if
the GUARDIAN 90 user ID under which the TRANSFER delivery system is running
owns the file, an asynchronous event is scheduled to purge the file.
If your system manager has disabled the external objects capability, E-EXTOBJS-
DISABLED is returned. Your application can check the status of this capability by
issuing the GET-CONFIG-NAME UOW for the EXTOBJS-ENABLED entity. (If it is set
to Y, external objects are enabled; if it is set to N, they are disabled.)
If the attachment is specified by object name and the object is attached more than once
to the same item, the first occurrence of the object name in the attachment list is
detached but all others remain. The TRANSFER delivery system returns the position
of the detached item in the DETACHED-POSITION field.
If the depot storage statistics facility is active, collection follows the rules in Table 2-11.
Table 2-11. Depot Storage Statistics for DETACH-EXTOBJ Operation

parent item is stored.
