TRANSFER Reference Manual
IPC Request and Reply Headers
Programmatic Interface to the TRANSFER Delivery System
1–8 069139, Update 1 to 40969 Tandem Computers Incorporated
UOWS-RETURNED
indicates the number of response UOWs returned to your application in a reply
from the TRANSFER delivery system. (This field is ignored in a request to the
TRANSFER delivery system.)
LOG-THIS-IPC
specifies whether the request and its reply are logged (Y) or not logged (N) for this
request. If the field is set to N, the depot criteria or the TRANSFER software might
override your request and log the IPC in some cases.
If TISERV's response to a PATHWAY requester contains fewer UOWs than the
corresponding request, the PATHWAY terminal control process (TCP) logs
PATHWAY error 3115 (TRANSACTION REPLY SIZE INVALID (N), where N is
the number of bytes in the reply) on the PATHWAY log device, even though the
requester might be prepared to handle short replies from the server. This error
might occur, for instance, because the server encountered a warning or an error in
a UOW and the REQUEST-CODE field of the IPC header indicated STOP-ON-
WARNING or STOP-ON-ERROR. You cannot suppress the resulting PATHWAY
error message.
Certain conditions cause this PATHWAY error message to be reported during use
of a Tandem mail client. For example, each attempt to log on with an incorrect
password produces this message.
