CHAR-MAP-ID
identifies the character map that applies to the text used in the item data. This
map relates native codes to characters in the base character set. It is indicated by
the following subfields:
CODE-PAGE-ID
identifies the base (canonical) character set on which the character map is
based.
CODE-SET-ID
uniquely identifies the character map for the canonical character set specified
by CODE-PAGE-ID.
If both CODE-PAGE-ID and CODE-SET-ID contain 0, there is no information
about the character map used to produce the item's text.
PAGE-STRING and SET-STRING
redefine CODE-PAGE-ID and CODE-SET-ID, respectively, for MOVE
operations in SCREEN COBOL and COBOL programs.
GET-ITEM-DESCR Operation
GET-ITEM-DESCR returns the item descriptor fields for the item identified by ITEM-
ID.
Access to the item is granted if the item is saved in any shared group folders accessible
to the group of which the correspondent is a member. If the correspondent does not
have access privileges to the item specified in the UOW, the error E-ITEM-NOT-
FOUND is returned.
