Introduction to D30 TRANSFER
Of more importance are STATUS packages created by the X400 Gateway when
converting Delivery and Non-Delivery reports returned as the result of a TRANSFER
probe. These reports can contain more than one reported-on recipient.
STATUS Packages created by TRANSFER contain only one REPORTED-ON RECIP.
TRANSFER Clients, therefore, cannot display more than one REPORTED-ON RECIP
when displaying a STATUS package. An M6530 user viewing a STATUS package with
multiple reported-on recips will be only aware of the first and will never know the probe
results for the extra REPORTED-ON RECIPs.
If this is a concern, the application originating the probe must only allow one X400 O/R
name per probe.
Altering X400 Gateway Folder Retention Times
While it has been possible to set the default item retention times for X400 special
folders, the minimum value was 14 days.
It is now possible to set values less than 14 days. This is not recommended, however, as
the value of 14 days is the best trade-off between performance and functionality.
Administrators that choose to use retention times lower than 14 days must set the
following TISERV param:
PARAM ALTERX400FOLDERS "TRUE"
At start-up, TISERV issues a warning that the param is set. Once TISERV is running,
administrators can enter ADMIN and alter the retention times of X400 special folders,
just like any other folder.
See “X400 Folder Retention Time Considerations, later in this section for more
information.
Introduction to D30 TRANSFER
This subsection gives the external specifications for the D30 version of TRANSFER.

This section describes TRANSFER's plans to use expanded system limits provided by
EXCEED. It includes the external changes required. It also gives implementation goals.
The primary objectives for this release of TRANSFER is to minimize the number of
TRANSFER processes required to run at low PINs and to allow high PIN requestors to
communicate with most TRANSFER processes.
