The Application Cluster Services (ACS) provides link-management functions for applications using
Pathsend requesters on the NonStop server platform.

Architecture Overview
The basic components in the ACS subsystem are the following processes:
Domain coordinator●
Process broker●
Configuration subscriber●
Redirector●
One instance of the domain coordinator process exists per NonStop system. A single instance of each
process broker, configuration subscriber, and redirector (ROUT) process is replicated in all CPUs in a
NonStop system; they are managed by the domain coordinator process.
The process broker, configuration subscriber, and redirector processes coordinate with other processes to
provide link management functions, as shown in Figure 4-1. The box around them indicates that they
share memory and, therefore, are tightly bound. If any of these processes fails, the other processes may
fail soon thereafter.
As shown in Figure 4-1, the domain coordinator process also shares memory with the process broker,
