Tuxedo 6.5.3 Administrator README

Note: Compaq recommends that you move/copy the files by using
either DSM/SCM or IPSetup for each distribution CD in
the NonStop(TM) TUXEDO product set (NonStop(TM) TUXEDO
core services, the Administrator, Jolt components, and
LLE components) to place all the files on the NonStop(TM)
Kernel system. Then run Install.sh to install all the
components at once, rather than installing them
sequentially.
IMPORTANT: If the NonStop(TM) TUXEDO core components are
reinstalled, the contents of this CD must be
reinstalled as well.
7. Follow the post-installation instructions in Section III below,
if any, after using IPSetup to place and install this product.
II. Pre-Installation Instructions
1. Ensure that you, the installation user, are not listed in
$SYSTEM.ZTCPIP.FTPUSERS.
Discussion: If you try to install products using IPSetup and
your user ID is listed in $SYSTEM.ZTCPIP.FTPUSERS, the
installation fails at the point where IPSetup tries to transfer
(ftp command) the files from the PC to the NonStop(TM) Kernel
system. This failure occurs in a typical situation when you
install the product using the super.super ID and, for common
security reasons, the super.super ID is forbidden ftp access.
2. If when you use IPSetup, IPSetup fails with error 550 indicating
it was unable to do a "chdir" to the subvolume specified, ensure
that you use a userID that does not have an initial OSS
directory.
Discussion: IPSetup assumes ftp is using the Guardian API.
If the user ID specified to IPSetup has an initial OSS directory
(that is, the SAFEGUARD attribute initial-directory is set) then
ftp uses the OSS API and IPSetup fails with error 550 indicating
it was unable to do a "chdir" to the subvolume specified. To work
around this problem, alter the user ID by resetting the attribute
initial-directory and rerun IPSetup.
To reset the initial-directory attribute, type the following
command at the TACL prompt:
TACL> SAFECOM
+ ALTER USER <userid>, INITIAL-DIRECTORY
+ EXIT
III. Post-Installation Instructions
1. Ensure that Compaq NonStop(TM) TUXEDO for Himalaya (R6.5) V3 is
installed before you install Compaq Administrator for
NonStop(TM) TUXEDO.
2. Use the ftp command to transfer the Install.sh shell script file
(in ASCII format) from the CD to an OSS directory.
