Tuxedo 6.5.3 README
3. Review the file USRGUIDE.PDF (in the subdirectory NSK_SW on this
CD) containing the IPSetup User Guide, which provides instructions
for using IPSetup, a utility provided on the CD that enables
installation of Independent Products. You need version 3.0 or
later of Adobe Acrobat Reader or Exchange to read or print the
IPSetup User Guide and NonStop(TM) TUXEDO Documentation. Obtain
the Reader by downloading it from the following URL:
http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html
4. Use either of the following methods to move/copy files to the
Installation Subvolumes: (A) IPSetup only, or (B) IPSetup in
conjunction with DSM/SCM.
5. Follow the pre-installation instructions in Section II below, if
any, before continuing to Step 6.
6. If you use DSM/SCM to move the files to the Installation
Subvolumes, ensure that you check the "Use DSM/SCM" box and run
all phases of DSM/SCM before you run the Install.sh script.
If you normally use INSTALL to install new software, run IPSetup
and uncheck the "Use DSM/SCM" box, to allow IPSetup to move the
NonStop(TM) Kernel files to the correct ISVs.
If TCP/IP and FTP are unavailable, or if you have problems
with automatic file placement, use the instructions in the
IPSetup User Guide section "Manual Software Placement Using
the IPSetup TACL Program" to manually place NonStop(TM) Kernel
files.
NOTE: Compaq recommends that you move/copy the files by using
either DSM/SCM or IPSetup for each distribution CD in
the NonStop(TM) TUXEDO product set (NonStop(TM) TUXEDO
core services, the Administrator, Jolt components, and
LLE components) to place all the files on the NonStop(TM)
Himalaya system. Then run Install.sh to install all the
components at once, rather than installing them
sequentially.
IMPORTANT: If new software is installed from a Site Update Tape (SUT),
ensure the T0280 and T7926 components have not been
overwritten with older versions of the software. To do
this use VPROC and ensure $SYSTEM.SYSnn.ROUT has a T-number
of T0280 and an IPM identifier of AAN or later, and ensure
DIST, DISTLIB, and SUPE in $SYSTEM.SYSTEM have a T-number
of T7926 and an IPM identifier of AAN or later. If the
versions are incorrect, run IPSetup using this CD to copy
the files to the ISVs and then perform the steps relating
to ROUT, DIST, DISTLIB, and SUPE. If steps pertaining to
the OSS files are executed be sure to also reinstall the
associated product CDs if appropriate; namely, the
Administrator (Web GUI) CD, Jolt CD, and LLE CD.
7. Follow the post-installation instructions in Section III below, if
any, after using IPSetup to place and install this product.
