VIII. Troubleshooting Tips
Problem: OSH or other OSS processes fail to start with TPC Error 49.
This error indicates that one or more of the public SRLs are
incorrectly licensed.
Fix: Correctly set the licensing bit for the SRLs in SYSnn. Then
reload the CPU.
NOTE: On G-series systems, do not license SRLs in SYSnn except for
a very limited set that includes one or two beginning with ZLAN
and ZATM. (For other licensed SRLs, consider verifying the
setting with the appropriate product documentation.)
If the licensing bits are set correctly and the problem occurs,
consider the possibility that the bits were set after the CPU was
loaded; therefore, reload the CPU. Remember that you must reload
the CPU after resetting the licensing bit for the public SRL.
Problem: OSS processes fail with "cannot execute".
Fix: Check and correct settings as follows:
1. Ensure that the user has execute permission to the file.
2. Determine whether buildclient can execute, but tmloadcf or
tmboot cannot execute. If buildclient can execute and tmloadcf
cannot, ensure that the security settings of the /T SRL (for
example, $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.LTUXT80) provide execute permission.
For example, a good value is "NUNU".
Problem: File System Error 48 occurs and is reported in the ULOG
file and the EMS log for start (tmboot) and stop (tmshutdown)
operations. This error does not occur for a super group user.
Fix: Resecure the DIST, DISTLIB, and SUPE files (in
$SYSTEM.SYSTEM) so that all NonStop Tuxedo administrative users
