Tuxedo 8.0 Update 1 README
Tuxedo (web GUI), does not handle PDF files correctly. For example,
after installing the T0412 documentation and starting tuxwsvr, the URL
for documentation is:
http://<ip addres>:<port>/doc/tuxedo/tux80/home.htm
The first selection on this page is "Release Guide", which links to
the file "release.pdf". When using Internet Explorer version 6.0,
selecting this caused the browser to report:
You are downloading the file:
release.htm from <IP address>
Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?
[Open] [Save] [Cancel] [More Info]
Selecting [Open] caused the browser to display the PDF file
incorrectly, because it believed the file was in HTML format. This
occurs with tuxwsvr in R6.5 V3, and also R8.0, where it is a more
serious problem because the majority of R8.0 documentation is
delivered as PDF files.
This problem does not occur, when ITPwebserver is used. Problem is
with the mini web server supplied as part of Tuxedo.
On a Windows machine, one workaround is to save the file locally,
changing its extension from "htm" to "pdf", then open the local copy
of the file.
Another workaround is to view the documentation at HP's web site,
which may have more up-to-date information than the files copied to
$TUXDIR/doc when you installed NonStop Tuxedo R8.0. This web site is:
http://nonstop.compaq.com/nsswdocs/tuxedo/home.htm
