2. If you use either the Release 1 or Release 2 version, either stop
all NonStop Tuxedo applications running on the system, or rename
any of the following files that are open in $SYSTEM.SYSTEM:
DIST, DISTLIB, SUPE, TSCHELP, and TSMPCOM.
Discussion: Step 2 eliminates file conflicts with the earlier
versions of NonStop Tuxedo installations.
When updating the ISVs, IPSetup attempts to purge existing files in
the ISV during processing. If a NonStop Tuxedo application is
running, IPSetup is not able to purge files, such as SUPE, DIST and
so forth, and terminates.
NOTE: If NonStop Tuxedo Release 2 or a version of NonStop Tuxedo
Release 6.5 is already installed, NonStop TS/MP components
(T0022, T7926, and T0280) are probably already running on the
system. The files that make up TS/MP are ROUT, SUPE, DIST,
DISTLIB, TSCHELP, and TSMPCOM. HP recommends that you update
all these TS/MP components with the version present on the
distribution CD (or later PVUs for these products), prior to
installing NonStop Tuxedo.
(When the Install.sh script runs, it checks only that some version
of the NonStop TS/MP T0022, T7926, and T0280 components is
present on your system, not for specific PVUs of these products).
3. Ensure that you, the installation user, are not listed in
$SYSTEM.ZTCPIP.FTPUSERS.
Discussion: If you try to install products using IPSetup and your
user ID is listed in $SYSTEM.ZTCPIP.FTPUSERS, the installation
fails at the point where IPSetup tries to transfer (with ftp) files
from the PC to the HP NonStop server. This failure typically
occurs when you install the product using the super.super ID and,
for security reasons, the super.super ID is forbidden ftp access.
4. If IPSetup fails with error 550 indicating it was unable to do a
"chdir" to the subvolume specified, ensure that you use a user ID
that does not have an OSS initial directory.
Discussion: IPSetup assumes ftp is using the Guardian API. If the
user ID specified to IPSetup has an initial OSS directory (that is,
the SAFEGUARD attribute initial-directory is set), then ftp uses
the OSS API and IPSetup fails with error 550 indicating it was
unable to do a "chdir" to the subvolume specified. To work around
this problem, remove the initial-directory value for the user ID
and rerun IPSetup.
To remove the attribute, as super.super, type the following command
at the TACL prompt:
TACL> SAFECOM
+ ALTER USER <userid>, INITIAL-DIRECTORY
+ EXIT
Alternatively, you can start SAFEGUARD from an OSS shell, for
example: gtacl -p safecom
