Network Command Functions
When you are done with TACL, you press one of the function keys for status, events,
extras, or profile, which returns you to the ViewPoint environment. This causes TACL
to send a message to the TACL switcher that tells it TACL is done and that it should
reactivate your task in the ViewPoint process. Accordingly, the TACL switcher
suspends your TACL interpreter and reactivates your task in the ViewPoint process,
which then assumes control of your terminal.
When you press the Exit function key (SF16) from either environment, you cancel your
terminal link to the ViewPoint process and give control to your TACL process. Your
TACL is, at this point, outside the ViewPoint application, and you no longer have access
to the ViewPoint function-key assignments for status and events.
Figure 5-5 illustrates the case of two network operators, identified as Operator A and
Operator B. (It is possible to have more than two operators.) Operator A is using a task
in the ViewPoint TCP for status or event screens. Operator B is using TACL. These
active operations are indicated by bold line connections in the figure.
