Virtual TapeServer 6.04.02 for NonStop Servers Release Notes

Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 7
Incremental backups backed up unnecessary files. If a cinfo or vlabel command was
issued from the command line, the change time for the file being accessed was changed.
Additionally, if a pool was expanded on the Virtual Media page, the change time for
cartridges in the pool was updated. These change time updates could have affected
incremental backups by backing up unnecessary files, which use the change time to detect
changes since the last full backup. VTS no longer modifies cartridge ctime when it is
querying cartridge information. This will help backup management applications from
interpreting cartridges that have changed and reduce the number of cartridges that need
to be incrementally backed up. (TL-2167)
Exported uncompressed cartridge showed size and throughput of 0MB/s when
compression was enabled. If compression was turned off and data was written to the
cartridge and then compression was enabled before exporting the cartridge, the count was
wrong on export. Additionally, the throughput was incorrectly listed. This has been fixed.
(TL-1409)
SecureVTS
Web interface did not provide information when encryption failed. Failure while
encrypting cartridges resulted in an error message with too little information to help
resolve the cause of failure. The web interface now indicates why a failure occurs. (TL-
3025)
Reading less data than the total in a block failed with a positioning error check
condition. An incorrect error was generated when reading less data than was available
in an uncompressed encrypted block. VTS now returns the amount of data with a residual
amount set in a check condition. (TL-3059)
Migration
NetBackup migrations missed matching valid lines. Sometimes, NetBackup
migrations missed matching valid lines. The match pattern in VTS required a period. This
has been fixed. (TL-2595, EAR 4907)
Must set hsm_enable as well as opwin_Migrate to enable Migrate button.
Previously, the documentation stated that opwin_Migrate must be set to YES to display
the Migrate button on the Virtual Media - Operation page. However, the hsm_enable
must also be set to YES. The documentation has been updated. (TL-2506)
AutoCopy and Instant DR
AutoCopy messages in log files may have used the wrong timestamp. Messages in
log files regarding AutoCopy operations may have used the wrong (and repeated)
timestamp. This has been fixed. (TL-2362)
EMS
keep-alive messages were sent if ems_keep_alive parameter was set to “no”. In
previous releases, the test for the value of the ems_keep_alive parameter was reversed so
that keep-alive messages were sent if this was set to “no”. This has been corrected so that
keep-alive messages are sent if this value is set to “yes” or if the “Enable Keep Alive”
