Fri Nov 07 14:46:15 2008: [lsof.pl] Error: lsof.pl /usr/sbin/lsof |
grep "/VAULT00/MAXPOOL/MAX001" 2>&1 failed!, rc=1, error=No system
error detected. Please check application logs for application errors.
(errno=-1).
These messages are benign and can be ignored. (TL-2347)
The hsm_summary_limit configuration parameter is not used. This parameter
should not be used and should be removed from the VTS configuration file. (TL-2272)
Unable to unmigrate a pool. You cannot unmigrate the cartridges in a pool by selecting
the pool; you must select individual cartridges. (TL-386)
EMS
Cannot edit or delete host pair after adding and deleting multiple host pairs. On
the EMS Configuration page, if you add or delete multiple host devices (in the EMS Hosts
section of the page) without saving, you may be unable to edit or delete a host device. (TL-
3190)
WORKAROUND: Save the EMS configuration and reload the page.
Enable Keep Alive and Enable Host Notifications must be selected to enable
keep-alive messaging. You must enable both options to enable EMS keep-alive
messages. (TL-3152)
Tapes are mounted as “tape not write enabled”. In rare cases, tapes are mounted by
EMS but the tape is not write enabled. The backup hangs until the tape is unmounted
and remounted. (TL-3147)
When mounting a cartridge over another using the web interface, the second
does not get mounted if the first cartridge is already dismounted. The web
interface may not always be accurate in the state of the tapes in the tape drive. (TL-1752)
WORKAROUND: Refresh the interface and try again.
IPv6 localhost address listed in log messages. Here is an example of the log message:
Fri Sep 05 17:47:58 2008 DEV4: 08-09-05 18:00:21 \DEV4.0,193
TANDEM.EMS.H01 000512 VTS.6.04.01 Critical 820205 VT5900G ::1
vtsdev21 bill ems reject C18003 for DEV4 virtual cartridge mi
The host address is ::1 when it should be localhost or 127.0.0.1. (TL-2086)
Mounts fails when ems_virtdevs and ems_hostdevs entries are delimited by
commas. In vts.conf, the entries for the ems_virtdevs_<HOST> and
ems_hostdevs_<HOST> must be separated by a space. Using a comma delimiter does not
work. (TL-2292)
If a mount command is sent to a non-existent virtual tape drive, VTS reports
that the tape is missing, not the drive. When a mount request is received by EMS, if
the request specifies a tape drive that is not configured on the VTS, VTS sends a
notification to the host that the tape is not found. It should send a notification that the
drive is not found. (TL-2293)
VTDs intermittently stop on NonStop if tapeserver is restarted repetitively. If
tapeserver is restarted several times in a row, the connection could be lost from the VTS
to host. (TL-1844)
WORKAROUND: Stop, reset, and restart the tape drive(s) from the host.
