any of the cartridges in a pool. Under normal conditions, manual lock maintenance is not
necessary; these locks are created and deleted by the VTS processes. Removing a lock here
should only be done if a VTS process terminated abnormally.
To remove a lock, select the pool or virtual tape and click REMOVE LOCK.
Managing licensing
After VTD licensing is initially enabled, you can update the license key (to add to or subtract
from the number of licensed VTDs, and to add or remove compression) or remove it. If
necessary, obtain the license key from your Sales representative.
Note If you want to install a license key that does not include compression, you must first
remove the license key that includes compression.
To update the license key
1. If necessary, log in to the VTS web interface using an account that is a member of the
Administration group. Click the Log In button at the top of the page and enter a
username and password.
2. Click Supervisor Functions on the navigation pane.
3. Click Manage System Licenses. The following page is displayed:
4. Select the Update checkbox for the VTD Key.
