Enabling and configuring Scan/Cleanup
You must modify the VTS configuration file to enable Scan/Cleanup and configure some of the
business rules.
Requires the Edit VTS Configuration File access right
To configure Scan/Cleanup

A default configuration file is defined for each VTS server. To override the default
settings, you must define settings as described below.
1. Click Supervisor Functions on the navigation pane.
2. Click Edit VTS Configuration File.
3. Add the following parameters at the bottom of the file that is displayed:

menu_ScanCleanup Displays the scan/cleanup menu option on
the Virtual Media page. This menu option
enables you to access the Scan/Cleanup web
interface.
Default value: NO
YES or NO
cleanup_enable Enables Scan/Cleanup. When disabled, the
Scan/Cleanup page indicates that this
feature is disabled.
Default value: NO
You must also set cleanup_autoerase to
YES to enable Scan/Cleanup.
YES or NO
cleanup_autoerase Enables Scan/Cleanup and controls the
automated erase process. When set to NO,
Scan/Cleanup is disabled and the Scan/
Cleanup page displays the erasure cleaning
status of each virtual tape but no virtual
tapes are erased without further
configuration.
Default value: NO
If you want to automate virtual tape
erasures, set this parameter to YES and set
the cleanup_scan_at and
cleanup_interval parameters. Once
enabled, the start time and interval are
used to determine how many times per day
the erasure process runs.
