Virtual TapeServer 6.04.03 for NonStop Servers Release Notes
Known Issues | 29
System restore image may duplicate database entries. Applying a system restore
image may duplicate database entries, causing the system to malfunction. (TL-4003)
WORKAROUND: Log in to the server, su to bill, and stop the vts_xmlrpc_server service:
service vts_xmlrpc_server stop
Then, apply the system restore image.
Cannot use a system restore image for a different version. You cannot use, for
example, a 6.04.02 restore image on a 6.04.03 system. (TL-3971)
Authentication required on Apply Revision Update page after upgrading then
downgrading. After upgrading to 6.04.03 and then downgrading to 6.04.01 or 6.04.02,
Apply Revision Update page requires authentication after restarting the browser. (TL-
3967)
Cannot add a remote key backup host after creating and applying a system
restore image after upgrade. After upgrading to 6.04.03 and then creating and
applying a restore image, you cannot add a remote key backup host after reboot. The
following message is displayed. (TL-3963)
Backup host vtsdev04 successfully added but no backup was available to
transfer to vtsdev04.
WORKAROUND: Click the Backup to All button and then add the remote key backup
host.
Ambiguous redirect error displayed if you restore an image that has been
restored. If you attempt to restore a system image from the version of VTS that has
already been restored, an “ambiguous redirect” error message is displayed though the
restore succeeds. (TL-3961)
Restoring a backup succeeds if versions do not match. If you attempt to restore a
system restore image that is a different version than the current system, the restore will
succeed. This can cause problems, such as not allowing the user to downgrade. (TL-4006)
System restore image times out and Huh? message displayed if old system
restore image resides on system. If a 6.04.02 system restore image was created and
then the system is upgraded, creating a 6.04.03 restore image will include the 6.04.02
image. This operation may timeout if the file is too large and a Huh? error message is
displayed. The create system restore image process should check for old system restore
image files and exclude them before creating a new system restore image. (TL-3968)
WORKAROUND: Remove old images from the system before creating new system
restore images. You may want to move the old images to another system, for safe keeping.
Downgrade to 6.04.02 fails if insufficient disk space is available. If you downgrade
to 6.04.02, the downgrade will fail. The web interface indicates that the downgrade failed
due to Unexpected EOF in archive. The System Status page indicates that the version is
but the system may be inoperable. (TL-3966)
To check the disk space, log in as vtsa, and use the df command:
df -k
