Virtual TapeServer 6.04.03.01 for NonStop Servers Release Notes

Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 7
EMS
Split EMS lines may not have matched, causing missed mounts. Backups ran
slowly and mounts were missed if the mount line was split into two lines that should be
matched by MATCH 61 (first line) and MATCH 62 (second line); the first line was not
matched. This caused the MATCH 62 to skip the mount because the variables that should
be set by the first line were not set. This has been fixed. (TL-4039, EAR 5671, EAR 5929)
Tapes were mounted as “tape not write enabled”. In rare cases, tapes were mounted
by EMS but the tape was not write enabled. The backup hung until the tape was
unmounted and remounted. This no longer occurs. (TL-3147)
Utilities and services
getVTS_dbginfo now includes network and operating system information.
Network configuration information, including ifconfig and ethtool output, and operating
system information, including sysctl -a output and the /etc/sysctl.conf file for evaluating
performance, have been added to getVTS_dbginfo output. (TL-4048, TL-4208)
PostgreSQL log files were filling up the file system. The postgresqlDAY.log files in /
var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_logs were filling up the filesystem with as much as 1GB per day
logging bill connections and disconnections from database. This has been fixed. (TL-4051,
EAR 6075)
RPM now installed to enable fence_ilo to run. The perl-Net-SSLeay-1.30-
1.el5.rf.x86_64.rpm file has now been installed, enabling the user to run fence_ilo. (TL-
4045)
XMLRPC and Ruby logs were not rotated. The XMLRPC and Ruby production log
files were not rotated according to the logrotate settings. This has been fixed. (TL-3997)
Installation, upgrades, updates, downgrade, and restore
After a system restore, duplicate VTDs were created on Manage Connections
page. This has been fixed. (TL-3567)
Could not use a system restore image for a different version. You could not use, for
example, a 6.04.02 restore image on a 6.04.03 system. This has been fixed. (TL-3971)
TapeServer processes are no longer restarted after installing a patch or interim
release (IR). TapeServer processes are no longer restarted after an update. The user
must reboot the system when indicated after the patch or IR install is complete. (TL-4304)
Reboot required after applying update. If you update the VTS server using the Apply
Software Change page, a message is now displayed indicating that you must reboot after
applying the change. (TL-4086)
XMLRPC service had to be stopped before downgrading. The service is now
stopped before a downgrade. (TL-4002)
System restore image timed out and Huh? message displayed if old system
restore image resided on system. Creating a system restore image may have timed
out if the file was too large and a Huh? error message was displayed. This has been fixed.
(TL-3968)
Restoring a backup succeeded if versions do not match. If you attempted to restore
a system restore image that was a different version than the current system, the restore
succeeded. This has been fixed. (TL-4006)
