Virtual TapeServer 6.04.03.01 for NonStop Servers Release Notes

EMS
The default interval for EMS keep-alive messages has been increased to 300
seconds. If you upgraded VTS to 6.04.02, verify the keep-alive interval to ensure that a
reasonable value is being used in the EMS configuration in vts.conf. Or, disable the keep-
alive messages if not needed. (TL-3174)
Utilities and services
HP monitoring services web interface may become unresponsive. (TL-3063)
WORKAROUND: snmpd may need to be restarted by running “service snmpd restart” as
root.
The Tcl executable is installed in a different location. The Tcl executable is now
located at /usr/bin/tclsh; previously, it was located in /usr/bin/tcl. (TL-1741)
/usr/local/tape/bin executables cannot be run as root. The programs in /usr/local/
tape/bin must not be run as root unless otherwise specified. If this is done inadvertently,
check the ownership of the files in /home/bill/.gnupg and ensure that they are owned by
the 'bill' account and have group ownership of 'bill' as well. Failure to observe this
precaution may cause a number of operational problems including failure to properly
process mount requests. (TL-2367)
Installation, upgrades, updates, and restore
No disk space available after an upgrade. After an upgrade, there exists the potential
to exceed the amount of available disk space. (TL-3885)
WORKAROUND: Increase the root partition from 10GB to 20GB. In addition, you should
regularly remove unused files, such as those located in the /tmp and /var/log directories.
/usr/local/tape/log/vts-post-install.log contains FATAL error messages. The VTS
installation log, /usr/local/tape/log/vts-post-install.log, contains FATAL error
messages regarding missing modules.dep files. These messages can safely be ignored.
(TL-2201)
Uploading a downloaded database causes all licenses to be missing. If you restore
a previously downloaded database, licenses are missing. (TL-2165)
