Virtual TapeServer 6.04.04 for NonStop Servers Release Notes

Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 14
Backup of database failed if scheduling a backup. If you clicked Backup the
database (Advanced) on the Administrator Utilities page and then clicked the Schedule
button (after clicking Proceed), the backup failed. This issue no longer occurs because this
option has been removed from the page. Use the System Restore option for system
backups. (TL-2401, EAR 4663)
Could not edit EMS hosts or virtual devices. If more than one EMS host or virtual
device was created, you could not edit any of them other than the first in the lists. This
has been fixed. (TL-3714)
Logwatch Parent Directory link displayed nested pages. Selecting from the
Supervisor Functions -> Examine Logwatch Output -> Parent Directory link caused the
page to be displayed within the same page. This has been fixed. (TL-3728)
Manage Connections
Web interface now warns the user about creating a device on a bus in use. A
warning is displayed if the user attempts to add a device on a bus (port) that already has
a device on it. (TL-4574)
Reboot is now required after setting port mode. Previously, when the user clicked
“Save” on the Manage System Limits page, a popup dialog box was displayed stating that
the system would be rebooted and asked the user to confirm the action. Now, when the
settings are saved on the new Manage Connections page, the user is redirected to the
reboot page to perform a reboot. (TL-4676)
Manage Connections page now shows port layout. In order to provide visual
feedback for customers, the Manage Connections page now provides the View Port Layout
section, which shows an image of the port layout on the back of the server. This image can
be used as a guide to selectively place ports in virtual or physical mode. (TL-4664)
Port mode now configured for ports, not buses. The Manage Connections page and
advanced page now use ports instead of buses, and enforcements are done using PTLI
(Port, Target, Lun, and Initiator). (TL-4640)
Fields on Edit Virtual Tape page were too small. When editing a virtual tape, the
fields for tape_type and host_type were too small and you could not see what was selected.
The fields have now been resized. (TL-4085, EAR 6135)
Could not modify the bus number assigned to a VTD. Because of the - (dash) in the
drive's serial number, you could not alter the bus number for the VTD. Any alteration to
the drive's serial number caused any backup application to see the drives as new
hardware. This has been fixed. (TL-3379)
Access Control
Access control now defaults to closed mode. The system now defaults to closed
access mode. (TL-4347)
Could not add backup host if password contained special characters. If a user
account’s password included special characters and you attempted to add a backup host,
the following message was displayed: “Backup host 192.168.##.## not added because
configuration data was not available in the database”. This has been fixed. (TL-4431, EAR
6406)
