Virtual TapeServer 6.04.05 for NonStop Servers Release Notes

Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 12
System restore
Restoring database from previous version corrupted the server. If a database was
backed up using the Download Database page and then restored on a later version of VTS,
VTS became inoperable. Now, the whole configuration is saved and restored together.
(TL-2521, EAR 4873)
Old system restore images remained in /var/www/html/tmp. The server may have run out
of disk space because old system restore images remained stored in /var/www/html/tmp.
The files are now removed from /var/www/html/tmp. (TL-5044)
Upgrade and downgrade
Could not access web interface pages after upgrading to 6.04.04, downgrading
and then re-upgrading. The web interface now works properly after upgrading,
downgrading and re-upgrading. (TL-5487)
Upgrade to 6.04.04 converted to PTLI with potential mistakes. This may have
occurred when a physical device entry had a BTLI that was the same as what was used
when converting the virtual device BTLI. Upgrading to 6.04.05 resolves this issue. (TL-
5469)
vtsa user password reset after upgrade. The password for the vtsa account is now
preserved after an upgrade. (TL-5561)
Incorrect failure message displayed if upgrade failed because of insufficient
disk space. If the upgrade failed because of disk space limitations, the following message
was displayed to indicate the current disk usage, which was insufficient for the upgrade to
continue. Now, improved error messages are displayed if disk space limits are reached.
This also includes the system restore image as well as the system backup image. (TL-
5136)
ERROR Could not create System Restore image before upgrade.

Utilities and services
vts_xmlrpc_server status showed stopped when it was running. Querying
vts_xmlrpc_server via service now reports the correct status. (TL-5560)
hp-ilo module could not rebuild itself after an upgrade then downgrade. When
performing an upgrade from 6.04.02, kernel headers were not backed up. Upgrading to
6.04.03 upgraded the kernel headers, which removed the old kernel headers. If you
downgraded to 6.04.02, there were no kernel headers for the 6.04.02 kernel. Therefore,
there was now way to install the hp-ilo module, which was part of the HP monitoring
tools. The hp-ilo module rebuilds itself when it is installed, and with the missing kernel
headers after the downgrade, the module could not be built. Now, the hp-ilo is backed up
as part of a system backup, so the headers are no longer needed. (TL-4008)
Could not monitor HP MSA1000 and HP MSA1500 disk arrays attached by Fibre
Channel if HP SIM was installed. External disk arrays could not be monitored if the
HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) was running on the VTS server. This has been fixed
for MSA1000 and MSA1500. This issue still exists for HP MSA2000 disk arrays. (TL-
4368)
